Cheptoo Kositany- Buckner

Cheptoo Kositany- Buckner was born in Kenya and moved to the United States in 1983 to pursue her education. She served for several years as the IT Director for the Kansas City Public Library before being promoted to the position of Deputy Director a role she has held for 8 years. Cheptoo has been instrumental in implementing several key initiatives for the Library including creation of engaging public spaces and innovative digital solutions. She has created strategic alliances with various non-profit organizations so as to better serve the community. Her bi-cultural background is an asset to the organization and her focus on collaboration has led her to a number of community leadership roles.
