Reg Leichty

Reg Leichty is a partner of EducationCounsel, LLC and Nelson, Mullins, Riley and Scarborough LLP. He has over 15 years of legal, strategic planning, government relations, and team leadership experience, serving prominent educational institutions, national foundations, non-profits, major associations, and private companies.  He practices education law with a focus on the critical issues intersecting education, technology, telecommunications, and privacy policy. Mr. Leichty provides counsel about legal and legislative issues pending before Congress and regulatory, policy, and compliance issues under the jurisdiction of the U.S. Department of Education, the Federal Communications Commission and other federal agencies. Prior to entering private practice in 2003, Mr. Leichty was Chief Counsel for Senator Bill Nelson of Florida and served as telecommunications and technology advisor to former Senator Bob Kerrey of Nebraska.  He received his J.D. from the George Washington University Law School and his bachelor's degree from Cornell University. He is a member of the Washington, D.C. and Virginia bars.
