It Takes a Mobile Village to Raise a Mobile Child: Developing Mobile Learning across the Community
Broadband access and mobile devices are poised to transform learning in all spaces, from public education to libraries, government and healthcare. Anywhere, Anytime learning is prevalent throughout a community for both students and adults. The panelists will share their experiences in schools, libraries and the community about the link between community anchors, mobile connectivity and the partnerships and planning needed for successful projects providing robust broadband connectivity, sustainable funding sources and community wide support.
-Education—From mobile device such as BTOD, digital resources and business hotspots for learning the classroom no longer ends at the sound of the school bell.
-Libraries—From digital collections such as e-books, QR codes and online instruction for adult learners the library offers information beyond traditional brick walls.
-Municipalities—From citizen engagement through online meetings and agendas, GIS mapping, and tourism and transportation apps cities and municipalities are now available 24/7.
-Telehealth --applications are increasingly important for graduate and postgraduate education in the health professions, professional certification and re-certification, continuing medical education, and health education for consumers and patients.
