Karen Archer Perry
As the Founder and Principal Consultant at Clarion Collaborative, Karen works with partners to co-create programs that build community capacity for an evolving – and expanding - knowledge economy. Her clients are schools, libraries, government agencies and technology vendors who are committed to using technology as part of broader civic, educational or development goals. Previously, as a Senior Program Officer at the Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation’s Global Libraries Program, Karen managed broadband, research, and policy grants that have impacted thousands of libraries across the county. As an Expert Advisor to the Federal Communications Commission, she contributed to the National Broadband Plan. Karen served as the Director of Field Outreach for the Knight Center of Digital Excellence, a Principal Consultant with Karacomm, and as a Sales Executive and Manager with Lucent, Bell Labs and AT&T. Karen earned a Bachelors and Masters in Electrical Engineering at the University of Washington and Cornell University, respectively.
